So the Yankees signed Posada. They tried to get him with a 3 year deal, but that didn't work. So they were forced to give him the 4th year.
Thats a long contract for a 36-year-old, but the Yankees had no choice. Posada will give the Yankees some solid time behind the plate, but you have to figure he'll be eventually moved to firstbase, or to the DH spot.
All an all this was the one player the Yankees absoluty had to sign, and I'm glad they did.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox haven't been able to sign Lowell yet, and he is now on the open marker. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the Yankees stay far far away from him.
